@vonnie_aka_MB There was a mention of a long-tailed skink yesterday. This is it. A two-tailed slice of evil and fun. Only weighs 180g, is seriously fast and responsive. The two 2.5mm red bend leather tails get into all sorts of places!

Beginners back-hand stroke with #TobyWhips number 1. She is called Vermilion, and is a nearly 7 foot single-tail in 2.5mm red bend leather.
This is a really good stroke to start out with, and works in smaller spaces. Tx

So over this year, whilst waiting patiently for my bamboo to grow, I have cut 36 whips in all manner of shapes and sizes.

I seriously love this thing, it is wonderful to use, very fast and accurate, and as light as a feather. Her name is Vermilion, she is one of a red set of 7 whips.

@LeatherVikki The 5mm stirrup strap used to make both these items is antique; it was found at the back of a barn in Yorkshire when an estate was liquidated. Working with it has been a pleasure. It is extremely heavy, and rather ouchy!

#TobyWhips No. 7. A mini boudoir-style single-tail made from an important piece of leather. You may note the design drawn onto it is for a cat; I did not have the skills to cut it at the time. Her name is Madam Bea. #WhipMaking
These aren't my whips; these are fitting handles. They range in length in 5cm increments, and help me work out how long a whip handle needs to be for the lash concerned. They were also a good way of practising new ideas!
