Why? Because your home is worth protecting.

Crisis isn't a question of if, it's a question of when. The most empowering thing you can do today is prepare. 🎒
LA, let's be ready, together.

This #WildfirePreparednessWeek we continue to share resources from our partners to empower Californians to be better educated and prepared.
👋 Meet Morgan Dioli, the Wildfire County Coordinator for San Diego County.
Since 2021, Wildfire County Coordinators, powered by a partnership between California Fire Safe Council and CAL FIRE, have been increasing community wildfire resilience by planning and advancing prevention, preparedness, mitigation, and recovery projects.
🚗 Morgan and her partners identified a critical gap: many residents were unsure how to safely evacuate during a wildfire. 🔥
In response, they teamed up with local, state, and federal partners to create the Last Chance Survival Simulation Workshop. This hands-on course helps community members better understand evacuation planning and what to do if evacuation isn’t immediately possible.
Through this effort, Morgan helped bring this training to more than a dozen communities, equipping over 100 residents with practical, potentially life-saving knowledge. 💡
Wildfire smoke harms your lungs—even when you can’t see it. This #WildfirePreparednessWeek, wear an N95:
✔️ NIOSH-approved
✔️ Tight seal
✔️ When outdoors for long periods or smoke/ash is present
Cloth & surgical masks won’t protect you—Mask up properly: https://t.co/9n0aG2xV8F

It’s #WildfirePreparednessWeek. Review your evacuation plan, refresh your go-bag and sign up for local alerts. Preparedness is ongoing — not seasonal.

Thanks for showing how having a #Zone0 noncombustible moat around your house can help protect it during a wildfire. #WildfirePreparednessWeek
On April 20, 2026, San Bernardino County Fire crews responded to a wind-driven vegetation fire in Yucca Valley. This home survived. Here is how to prepare your property during #WildfirePreparednessWeek.
Zone 0: The first five feet from your home is the most important. Keeping the area closest to buildings, structures, and decks clear will prevent embers from igniting materials that can spread the fire to your home.
Zone 1: This is the area within 30 feet from the structure. Regularly clear dead or dry vegetation and create space between trees. During times of drought when watering is limited, pay special attention to clearing dead or dying material.
Zone 2: Reduce potential fuel within 100 feet of the structure.
Defensible space does not just protect your home. It gives firefighters the space they need to operate when fighting a wildfire.
