@ARPANSANews @nuclearsciweek @AshlandInc Step 5: As our flatbed scanner is regularly used for audit films we need to ensure it’s responding accurately. Before I finish up for the day, I'm going to run a scanner constancy check using neutral density filters as optical density standards. #WiNTakeOver22
@ARPANSANews @nuclearsciweek @AshlandInc Step 4: I convert the images to dose maps & use @ARPANSANews's software, Marigold to locate the position the film was in the phantom for delivery & compare the film #radiation dose to data provided by the facility. I then record the results in the audit report. #WiNTakeOver22
@ARPANSANews @nuclearsciweek @AshlandInc Step 2: Now I have today’s output I'm ready to irradiate the films & create a calibration curve to convert film darkness to dose. The irradiation must be precise as errors, such as delivering wrong dose to a calibration film, could make the curve invalid. #WiNTakeOver22
