Question: How do we complete #construction at the top of our #windturbines?
Answer: a giant crane! (Which you probably knew if you tuned into last week’s #WindViews)
The process pictured here is called “flying the rotor” and the #crane in this photo is almost 300 ft. tall!
#WindViews | In this photo, each turbine’s rotor (hub + 3 blades) is facing the same direction: southeast. This is because that’s the direction the #wind was blowing from!
Our #windturbines rotate (or yaw) to face the wind, helping them better optimize this source of #energy. 💨
