As #PWDs we're Celebrating ๐พ Mia's achievements as a #WomanWithADisability because we understand the struggle and the courage she portraying.

๐ฅณ ๐ She Conquered & we're Celebrating her zeal to live a normal life in this disabiling environment/world. Mia is has proven that its possible to dream big and the judges have also proven that #Diversity means we all qualify to belong.

โ Mia Le Roux was diagnosed with profound hearing loss at the age of one, resulting in her relying on a cochlear implant for most of her life.
โ She attended a school for the #Deaf from age two to five. It took two years of speech therapy โand continued repetition of wordsโ she shared in a Facebook post, before she could one afternoon in Pretoria utter the first four words; โkyk daar, wit wolker (look there, white clouds).
โ She is the first #DeafPerson to win #MissSA
โ She wowed judges to become the first #DeafPerson to be crowned Miss SA.
โ #MiaLeroux beat Nompumelelo Maduna and Onalenna Constantin.
โ Her passion for health and fitness led her to pursuing a qualification in these fields and obtaining a nutrition certificate from the Sport Science Institute of South Africa, as well as an exercise specialist diploma from ETA College.
โ A model and marketing manager, Le Roux is currently furthering her Bcom studies in Marketing at the University of South Africa (UNISA)
โ Mia le Roux will use her Miss SA title to help build a more #Inclusive environment for #PeopleWithDisability, including subtitles on TV shows and sign interpreters at live events for the deaf and those hard of hearing.
โ Not one to let a hearing challenge stand in her way to achieving greatness, she also made it to the Top 5 in the #MissDeafSouthAfrica competition.
โ She is passionate about spreading awareness and educating others about the challenges faced by the #Deaf community, Le Roux will use her #MissSA title to advocate for accessibility and #Inclusivity for people who are #Deaf and hard of hearing, such as subtitles on TV shows and sign interpreters at live events.

My #wallclimbing experience 2021
I climbed a 15 meter wall ๐ a โon for my bucket list goals.
I figured out I had to use my #arms to pull myself up. Stepping on the nobs was a bit challenging my strong hands bailed.

I received "that cal"l ๐ today & I realised that this call isn't about me even though it requires me use my skill...it's about the #visibility of #WomenWithDisabilities in Zim.
One of my mentor's Dr Marlene Le Roux a very powerful #WomanWithADisability from South Africa (on pic) once said to me "Soneni when you're invited to an event it's no longer about you! It's about speaking & standing up for #WWDs " she was right!
