📢ZACC publicly disclose how much it has spent since its formation,&how much it has actually recovered⁉️ At various points,the Commission has consumed millions of dollars,yet produced near zero high level convictions & recoveries.That is not inefficiency,that is institutional failure.
📢Priscilla Mupfumira case exposes this failure🚩ZACC abandoned prosecution on the grounds that Mupfumira allegedly lacked mental capacity. Yet today, she is a Senator, seated in Parliament🇿🇼,participating fully in legislative duties. This is not a minor contradiction, it is a collapse of logic,credibility,& justice. Either she was fit to stand trial,or she is unfit to legislate.🇿🇼cannot be insulted by both claims at once🆘️📢🏛🇿🇼⚖️
Mupfumira presided over the looting of workers’ pensions. The working class now lives in destitution, stripped of dignity after a lifetime of labour, while she enjoys the privileges of office without consequence. ZACC owes Zimbabwe a clear update, what steps, if any, are being taken to recover stolen pensions and hold Mupfumira accountable?
If truth be told, ZACC itself now warrants investigation. Under Matanda Moyo’s leadership, the Commission has increasingly appeared not as an anti corruption body, but as a political instrument, used to intimidate, bargain, and discipline corrupt actors into compliance with Emmerson Mnangagwa’s corrupt patronage system, not to dismantle it.
Selective justice is not justice.
Silence in the face of grand corruption is complicity, and institutions that protect looters while persecuting the weak are enemies of progress.
There is nothing to write home about in ZACC’s record, and until it confronts power, not critics, it will remain part of the problem, not the solution.

Over three days, Zimbabwean anti-corruption practitioners, prosecutors & investigative journalists built skills to combat IFFs using the Common African Position on Asset Recovery (#CAPAR).
Three working groups tackled key challenges:
1️⃣ Advocacy actions to prevent IFFs & corruption
2️⃣ Communication strategies during investigations (protecting sensitive data)
3️⃣ Sensitizing media & civil society on recovered & returned assets
Key takeaways from the Outcome Statement:
• Strengthened collaboration between ZACC, law enforcement, media & CSOs is essential.
• Whistleblower protection laws & data transparency in asset recovery must be prioritized.
• Public awareness & simplified messaging on IFFs are critical for citizen engagement.
