The implication of Khawaja's comments is absurd.
He claims that any negative commentary on the rate of immigration will be taken poorly by him because he's an immigrant himself. But what if it was 10x higher? 1000x higher? We need to be able to have an adult discussion about the numbers and the makeup of those numbers without treading on eggshells.
Criticism of mass immigration should not be taken as criticism of *every single immigrant individually* - but the fact remains that Australia's immigration program is hopelessly broken. Too many visas, bad selection processes, perverse incentives, loopholes galore.
We "right wing politicians" are not going to be lectured into silence over it.
