#askdvpit Assuming you’ve made substantial changes to the manuscript, what’s the appropriate timeline to re-query an agent who passed? Or should those agents just be considered out of bounds? This is referring to form rejections, not partial or full rejections. Thank you! ❤️

Hi #askDVpit I have 2 manuscripts - 1 middle grade and 1 adult literary fiction both about identity and adoption. My plan is to pitch 1 on each pitch day but wondering when I mention the other book if an agent likes a pitch. Ideally, I’d find a rep that does both adult & MG.

Asking for a friend...😆 What's the minimum acceptable word count for an adult contemporary romance? I keep seeing popular titles out that run around 100k (even debuts) but am always told 80-90k is the sweet spot! #askdvpit

Hi #askDVpit! When choosing a manuscript to submit, is it better to use one that aligns with a trend (retellings, murder mysteries, etc) or use one that the writer feels is stronger?

#askDVpit Thank you! 1. Is it absolutely necessary to have MS professionally edited before submitting it to agents for consideration? 2. When agents say they want fantasy MS not based on Western cultures/European-based, does it include Eastern Europe's mythology & folklore?
