Thank you for the great questions! The finale episode starts in 5 minutes on @USA_Network! Alex and I are going to keep hanging out and watching what you think. Hope you enjoy! #dirtyjohn #askdirtyjohn
I watched the original in the 90s and then we watched it again in the writers room. I did not feel it explored Betty's motivations enough. - Alex #askdirtyjohn
#AskDirtyJohn Do you go back and look at the original mini series made back in the early 90's before you made this series? There are some stark differences.
When I was writing the scene where Betty thought she had the kids for Easter, but Dan took them. I ugly cried in Starbucks. - Alex #askdirtyjohn
#AskDirtyJohn I’m wowed by the character development, flashbacks, acting and writing in @DirtyJohnUSA . Was there a particular scene that made YOU ugly cry as a show runner ?
Hi! Previous retellings of the Betty story focused on how she couldn't handle her emotions, we wanted to try to show where those emotions came from in the first place. - A&J #askdirtyjohn
@JessicaRhoades thanks for responding to our #WIF unanswered questions 🤗 mine that Ebony loved was: as women in the industry, how do u feel about portraying women in a negative light, unable to handle emotions? I love the aesthetics by the way 😍 #WIFLA
Thank you! So many talented actors. Hmmm... It's not that we were surprised at how talented @ChrisMason_ was, but we were surprised to the degree that he was able to evoke @ChristianSlater. Just amazing. - A&J #askdirtyjohn
#askdirtyjohn @surlysgirl @JessicaRhoades @lindalowy / amazing show. I am a big fan! My question: Perfect casting. What/who was the biggest surprise in the cast ?
@Kas_Raux @DirtyJohnUSA Surrounded ourselves with good people who respected each other, that set the tone! - A&J #askdirtyjohn
Interviews, books, newspapers, and courtroom transcripts were used. And I've been interested in Betty's story since before I was a writer. - Alex #askdirtyjohn
#AskDirtyJohn How was the Betty story chosen for this season? What was used as the basis for the script? Real interviews? Books? I wanna know! 😁👏🏻
Hands down, when Betty imagines Dan on the dance floor in episode 1. So much fun watching Amanda and Lena with their 80s moves, then Christian and Amanda also busted out their moves to Obsession. 🎶 - Jess #askdirtyjohn
@JessicaRhoades #askdirtyjohn @DirtyJohnUSA Q. What was the dirties part of dirty john from what we’ve seen so far in the writers room opinion 😻?
The actors could watch if they wanted to but Amanda did not want to imitate Betty - she wanted to find her own way in to playing her situation. - Alex #askdirtyjohn
The last 2 days of filming we were in an actual prison w/ no cell phones allowed, shooting (as you will see) incredibly intense material. Probably the hardest! - A&J #askdirtyjohn
@DirtyJohnUSA @JessicaRhoades #AskDirtyJohn What was the most difficult shooting day of filming Betty’s story? Or the most rewarding?
#wifLA #askdirtyjohn @WomenInFilm @DirtyJohnUSA Loved all the feedback & look forward to Q&A here! Woman who are tired of hearing their crazy can now appreciate @DirtyJohnUSA
@DirtyJohnUSA @JessicaRhoades Can you speak to some of your research/findings about real life 1st wives being in Betty’s position of losing everything when their husband moved on? And less seriously but…do you think Betty would be a “Karen” if we had social media then? #WIFLA #AskDirtyJohn

@DirtyJohnUSA Whew girl I don’t have a question but I want to say I have watched each episode multiple times. This was such compelling TV and a great distraction during these tough times. I’ve watched the Meredith Baxter movies now. This story’s been interesting to learn about. #askdirtyjohn

@DirtyJohnUSA @JessicaRhoades The Broderick story has been hashed out by media for years. What was the reason for telling the story again this time? What message were you trying to get out that wasn’t clear from before? #askdirtyjohn
