. The early days of River Cottage were certainly quite meat heavy and my own cooking gets more plant based by the year. I wouldn't eat eels at the moment over concerns about stocks. But I am still an omnivore! #AskHugh

@SoilsAlliance .Well congrats to all of you at the sustainable soils alliance for keeping this vital question on the governments agenda. We all need to understand that healthy food is impossible without healthy soil #askhugh
. I agree that it is not easy to keep sugar away from kids (including mine) but schools and nurseries don't help if they are dishing it out. I think a bit of sugar is best in homemade treats - ideally which the kids have had a hand in making. #AskHugh
@Lyricali6 .An important & complicated question. If you're ready to cook the healthy options don't have to cost more, but if you're dependent on ready meals and takeaways the cheap option will rarely be the healthy option. Again it is down to education and shift in food culture #askhugh
. Cooking locally sourced food based on plants doesn't have to be expensive. What's outrageous is supermarkets charging more for produce that is not wrapped in plastic. They say they are changing their ways and we'll be holding them to it in our next plastic show #AskHugh
