How do our drones fly safely through the sky? Each delivery drone comes equipped with backup batteries and motors – even a backup navigation system. Our onboard software helps our aircraft monitor its own health in real time and qualified pilots oversee all operations. #AskWing
Seen our drones in flight? Our aircraft have a wingspan just over 3 ft, or 1 m, weigh around 11 lb, or 5 kg, and is designed to travel up to 70 miles/hour, just over 113 km/hour!

This week on #AskWing: how does our delivery work?
The customer uses the Wing app to place an order - whether they need medicine to relieve a headache or chocolates for a sweet tooth. Our local merchants prepare the order, once ready, a Wing drone lifts off and picks it up.
When a Wing delivery arrives at a customer’s home, it won’t land - it will hover over your home’s delivery zone as it lowers a tether holding a package so gently that even a full cup of coffee will land undisturbed. What a fun way to get your first cup of the morning. #AskWing
Our aircraft has fixed wings, like an airplane, and also hover propellers, like a helicopter. This allows it to transition seamlessly between forward flight and hover mode, keeping the package steady and level so we can deliver things like coffee, cupcakes and gelato!
