🔥 BABYLON FIRE UPDATE: The Babylon Fire has now burned more than 100,000 acres as firefighters continue working to protect communities and critical infrastructure near Monticello. On the north side, crews were able to work directly along portions of the fire's edge to extinguish hotspots and strengthen containment. Structure protection remains underway in and around Monticello, where firefighters continue hardening homes, infrastructure and other critical facilities. ⚠️ Hot, dry weather, gusty winds and the potential for dry lightning are expected to keep fire behavior active Tuesday.Evacuations remain in effect for several San Juan County zones, and closures continue across portions of the Manti-La Sal National Forest, Canyonlands National Park's Needles District and nearby Bureau of Land Management lands. The Babylon Fire was active again today, growing to nearly 97,000 acres in the Bears Ears National Monument of Utah. There are now 29 crews, 11 helicopters, 56 engines, 4 dozers, 15 tenders, for a total of 1,145 personnel on the fire. The is no real break in the weather for the coming days.
