If @AAraghchi respects #Bashur so much why is the Iranian political elite letting the #IRGC constantly bomb Bashur?
Bafel Jalal Talabani, President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, and Abbas Araghchi, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, met in Tehran.
During the meeting, which was attended by a high-level PUK delegation, discussions focused on the latest political developments and military changes in the region. Bafel Jalal Talabani emphasized that problems require peaceful solutions and ongoing dialogue.
Bafel Jalal Talabani reiterated the PUK's continuous efforts to establish peace and de-escalate tensions, stating that the Kurdistan Region respects the security and sovereignty of neighboring countries, and that a shared and ancient history binds us together with the Iranian people.
For his part, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran expressed his appreciation for the role of Bafel Jalal Talabani and the PUK in their efforts to protect the stability of the Kurdistan Region, Iraq, and the region as a whole.
And I doubt these women were dressed like they are when working with the #AANES. Kurds may have lost their one in a century chance of self determination (not only in #Rojava, but also in #Bashur with @masrourbarzani and @bafeltalabani unable to form a government and restart parliament) but with every storm cloud there's a silver lining. Maybe the vast majority of Arabs who allied with Rojava #Kurds will realise they were better off when they sided with Kurds than the pseudo Islamist fanatic militants now in power - PUT THERE BY THE WEST.

Last night, drone attacks targeting Başûrê #Kurdistan continued until morning. Among the targets of the drones was also a cafeteria located in Hewlêr (#Erbil). It seems the attackers want people in #Bashur to live in terror.

In response to @KamranMatin: When describing Turkey's concerns as legitimate @Bafeltalabani cd have been speaking from Turkey's point of view. He cd have been diplomatic! After all, if #Turkey attacked #Bashur & #Rojehlat as it is doing in #Rojava, it wd make matters far worse.
One can understand Mr. Talabani’s worries about the costs of war should the #KRI/#KRG become more involved than it already is. But it is astonishing that he describes #Turkey’s concern regarding the possible entry of the Iranian Kurdish opposition into the war against the Iranian regime as 'legitimate', given that Turkey already occupies large swathes of Southern/Iraqi Kurdistan (#Bashur) on the grounds of similar concerns.
Would Mr. Talabani also have described the Iraqi Ba’ath regime’s concern about the PUK and PDK’s Iran-backed war against #Baghdad in the 1980s, during the Iran–Iraq War, as “legitimate”? Concerns that culminated in the #Anfal operations?
Mr. Talabani also describes the Shi’a Kurds of #Iran as pro-regime in toto. Why? Since when is faith or religious identity supposed to trump national identity? Would he say the same about the relationship of the Shi’a Kurdish population in Iraq vis-à-vis Baghdad and the KRG?
