Nalanda, an ancient seat of learning, is also celebrated for #BawanBooti, a craft known for intricately weaving motifs onto saris. Named after the 52 motifs (booti) it incorporates, this style pioneered cotton-on-cotton brocade weaving. #BiharTextileHub #BiharHaiTaiyar

@TexMinIndia @tarkishorepd @ShahnawazBJP @SandeepPoundrik @Sanjeev92823729 @nalanda_univ @drAnupamaias @smritiirani @nituchandra @Officialneha The art captures the beauty of the universe through motifs of #Buddhist artefacts. It is said that any wedding would be considered incomplete without a #BawanBooti #sari in dowry. No wonder, it also got the name - "len den ki saree" (exchange of gifts). #textile_bihar

An acclaimed seat of learning in ancient India, Nalanda is also home to #BawanBooti, a craft of weaving intricate motifs on #saris. It draws its name from 52 motifs (booti) used in the #handloom. This weaving style marked the beginning of cotton-on-cotton brocade. #textile_bihar

#Nalanda being the center of knowledge in the world is also home to a fascinating craft known as #BawanBooti. Baswan Bigha is the center for this most marvellous skill in Bihar. Bawan means 52 and Booti means ‘motifs’. #Nostalgia from my days as @dmnalanda #Bihar #SareeTwitter
