I love a good Post It Party! Students worked with a partner to work through measurement story problems. They then met with groups who had a different answer to figure out the mistake. There was some great math talk today. #bcesmath #starpower

I am so excited for the work my Ss are showing w/ the flip grid white board tools. It’s so cool for them to be able to show & explain their thinking & give each other feedback. The best part is one of my Ss who is reluctant to share whole group was so confident w/ his. #bcesmath

I ❤️this lesson. We are back to a skill we learned. I told Ss they were the teachers. The class split each w/ a different problem (1 +, 1-). They solved, then checked w/ team. Ss helped each other find & fix mistakes then they partnered w/ the other group to teach. #bcesmath

Ss worked in groups to make sense of a story problem, model thinking & communicating their answers. We then “scooted” to the next problem where a new team solved it. That group gave glow & grow feedback to original group on their PS mat. Great feedback & discussion. #bcesmath

I LOVE our new warm up. “4 strikes you’re out” is such a great and fun way to engage kids in great number sense discussions. It’s the math version of hangman. There is so much flexibility for differentiating this for your learners. The discussion was 👍🏻#bcesmath #starpower

Today we mix and mingled to find a partner to compare numbers. After they worked together to write a comparison using the >,< and = symbol. After they used their mathematical thinking to prove why they were correct. Pairs paired up with another pair to share proof. #bcesmath

We dove right into math this week with our warm ups, which included Estimation Clipboard from 20 days of Number Sense. The kids LOVED these. It was a great way to start reasoning about math through discussion and building viable arguments. #starpower #bcesmath
