Version 1.0.8 available at https://t.co/XrZDvQ80Pt. This must be the quickest update so far, but an important bug was introduced iin 1.0.7 (couldn't use Integer Scale with Genesis Plus GX's TV filters) and I'd rather not wait to release a fix.
Try setting "Integer scale" (in options-settings-emulation) to "Yes" on #Blast16 1.0.7. Emulation should look better than ever now :)

#Blast16 1.0.5 released! Image only, no USB update. A couple of bugs fixed, and 3 new features: continue game (= autosave/autoload), integer scaling, and new loading screen while game starts.

#Blast16 1.0.5 will bring some nice features:
-New option "Autoload" in Options->Settings->Emulation. If set to yes, you'll continue your game where you left it.
-New option "Integer scale" in Options->Settings->Emulation.
-New background image while Retroarch is loading.

Those crashes right after mapping certain controllers are gone for good :)
