@JoolsMJones @BpoolLibraries Most definitely, and again as you find out more about what he has overcome *wails* #bookpool
@BpoolLibraries I thought he was a really refreshing character. The author showed a great deal of empathy in his rendering #bookpool
@BpoolLibraries I loved her immediately, but when you find out more about her history it really added to the complexity of her character. She is fierce in the BEST way #bookpool
@BpoolLibraries I found it refreshing that Lisa was not your stereotypical addict. She functioned and had a professional job. As a nurse no less - again challenging assumptions #bookpool
@BpoolLibraries Motherhood, guilt, addiction, gaslighting, the impact of violence of families - to name but a few #bookpool
@BpoolLibraries Again, difficult to say too much here. She had a very complicated relationship with her mum. Entwined with secrets and guilt. They were both strong women, and I loved their relationship #bookpool
@kate__bradley @BpoolLibraries @cloveroverover @satsumajo1 I think it tells us a lot about the assumptions we make too. The clues were there but we had an obvious (to us) explanation so we overlook them #bookpool
@BpoolLibraries Well, you could have knocked me down with a feather ๐ I had to go back and look through to check Iโd read it right. It was then I began to see the clues to the reveal *slaps forehead* #bookpool
@BpoolLibraries Lisaโs poor choices really added to the sense of her being an untrustworthy voice #bookpool
@BpoolLibraries We were left in the dark as to whether the incidents were real or a product of addiction. The story would not have been as interesting without that doubt being cast #bookpool
@BpoolLibraries I think having an unreliable narrator really worked for this book. If there had been another perspective the book wouldnโt have worked so well #bookpool
@BpoolLibraries It worked for me, I ended up racing from one chapter to the next. Always wanting to know more about what was happening/ had happened #bookpool
@BpoolLibraries It ramped up the tension big style. With cliffhangers aplenty #bookpool
@BpoolLibraries And yes, I canโt wait to read more in this series. Amazing and believable characters, and gripping plots. Iโm looking forward to the next one #bookpool
@BpoolLibraries Hmmm! Iโm not sure. I feel that by her Babcia not addressing the subject of her family history, Cassie was left floundering and she wasnโt able to fully grieve #bookpool
@BpoolLibraries I thought this aspect of the book was very understated and poignant. It was definitely left open to interpretation. Being a horror fan, Iโd have been happy with it being more ghostly. Saying that, it was a refreshing approach #bookpool
@BpoolLibraries This book was fantastic in that it gives hope if youโre in a bad situation. Not just Cassie, but Carl, and even Barry all had moments of redemption #bookpool
