Encore une fois, j’attire l’attention sur certaines dérives au sein de la #BSAP.
Sur cette image, deux agents et une arme inhabituelle : une arbalète🏹.
Cela illustre la circulation d’armes non réglementaires, souvent issues du trafic ou récupérées auprès des gangs lors des opérations policières.
Ce phénomène ne s’explique pas par un manque d’équipement officiel, mais par une logique de démonstration de force, sans cadre doctrinal clair.
Pourtant, depuis son appui annoncé à la PNH le 3 avril 2025, l’impact opérationnel de la #BSAP reste très limité sur le terrain.
Il ne s’agit pas de stigmatiser la BSAP, mais d’alerter sur des risques structurels réels : armement illicite, recrutements massifs sans supervision, instrumentalisation politique et absence de chaîne de commandement solide et fiable.
Dans ce contexte, je pense maintenant que rattacher la BSAP aux FAD’H serait une erreur. Une telle décision risquerait de fragiliser une institution militaire encore embryonnaire.
Une réorganisation complète, un encadrement strict et une clarification du cadre légal sont indispensables.

For many years, many have called for NATO to “upgrade” #BalticAirPolicing #BAP and #BlackSeaAirPolicing #BSAP to robust integrated Air/Ground/Sea #AirMissileDefense #AMD with strong and “unambiguous” (unambiguous, especially to the Russians) #RulesOfEngagement #ROE.
Perhaps NATO’s recent mission upgrade to the new #EasternSentry #ES, is a chance for an AMD reboot. So far though, ES seems off to a rough start when three armed Russian fighter jets invade NATO territory, and NATO’s strongest response is declaring that “This is not the type of behaviour one would expect from a professional air force.”
It’s good that Estonia is invoking Article IV “security consultations,” of the NATO Treaty. Invoking Article IV is a rare occurrence - it has only occurred 9 times during NATO’s 76 year history.
Indicating just how rapidly the security situation is deteriorating in Europe, this is the first time Article IV has been invoked twice, in rapid succession. It’s only just over a week ago, that NATO Ally Poland invoked Article IV in response to Russia’s attack of 19 drones against its sovereign territory. ~30 more Russian drones were reported on course to Poland; thankfully, these drones were interdicted by Ukrainian forces before reaching Polish airspace.
Russia only understands, respects and responds to strength. It’s time to put “teeth,” into NATO’s AMD mission, and to routinely exercise it NATO-wide. If due to political “challenges” regarding Allied-consensus to “kinetically respond,” ie, to shoot down Russian fighter jets, then NATO must develop alternative punitive measures against Russia to ensure the Kremlin “gets the message” that when NATO says “we will defend every inch of Allied territory,” and then Russia invades Alliance territory/airspace, that NATO will respond (and not just with words).
Undersea cables, DHL attacks, GPS jamming, drone overflights of Poland/Romania, and now large formation incursions of NATO airspace with combat aircraft over the Baltic States. It’s time to draw a line in the sand and take a stand. Next time there needs to be 3 less MiG-31.
