#BugReport – #GrokImagine Copyright Filter Inconsistency (Godzilla + Biomechanical/Giger)
The copyright filter on Grok Imagine is broken and extremely inconsistent when Godzilla is combined with biomechanical / Giger-style language.
What happens:
- Prompt containing “HR Giger”, “Giger”, or strong “biomechanical horror” language + classic Toho Godzilla almost always gets blocked with a copyright reason.
- The exact same biomechanical / Giger treatment on Batman works with zero problems — including the direct phrase “HR Giger Batman”.
- Pure “biomechanical” or standalone biomechanical characters also generate fine.
- Godzilla by itself is fine.
Observed behavior:
1. Full detailed prompt with Giger/biomechanical + Godzilla → blocked.
2. Immediately typing just the word “Godzilla” after the block causes the sticky session/context to reload the previous full prompt and successfully generate the exact biomechanical Godzilla that was just refused.
3. Changing aspect ratio often breaks this sticky workaround and forces a normal (non-biomechanical) Godzilla instead.
4. App reload does not clear the sticky context — the same block → type “Godzilla” sequence still works.
Conclusion:
The filter is not applying a consistent copyright rule. It heavily over-triggers on the narrow combination of Godzilla + Giger/biomechanical descriptors (especially with certain camera angles), while allowing the identical style — including the name “HR Giger” — on Batman without any issue. The session also fails to properly clear prompt context, creating a reliable but stupid workaround.
This needs fixing. The current behavior is unreliable and makes stylistic reinterpretations of Godzilla unnecessarily difficult.

#Logcat, #tombstone, #bugreport e altri artefatti diagnostici possono essere estremamente utili, ma non sono nati come strumenti forensi: il log infatti ruotano, vengono sovrascritti o nel peggiore dei casi persino cancellati in seguito a specifiche attività e spesso permettono di ricostruire soltanto una finestra temporale limitata.
Per questo motivo trovo particolarmente interessante la funzione di #IntrusionLogging (IL) introdotta con #Android 16 nell'ambito della Advanced Protection Mode e sviluppata da Google in collaborazione con Amnesty International Security Lab.
Per chi si occupa d'#informaticaforense e analizza smartphone potenzialmente compromessi da #malware, il cambio di paradigma è importante: il sistema operativo produce e conserva ora dati pensando anche alla successiva analisi forense di una intrusione.
#iVerify ha effettuato alcuni test su dispositivi Google Pixel reali e i dati raccolti sono decisamente interessanti, ad esempio gli eventi DNS associano le risoluzioni direttamente all'applicazione che le ha generate, il che significa che non abbiamo soltanto contezza che lo smartphone ha contattato uno specifico dominio, ma possiamo arrivare a capire quale specifica applicazione ha richiesto la risoluzione DNS e lo stesso vale per le connessioni, IP e porta di destinazione vengono correlati al package Android responsabile della comunicazione, non soltanto al dispositivo.
Ancora più interessante è la parte relativa ai Security Events: negli IL troviamo avvio dei processi, UID e PID, contesto SELinux, attività ADB, installazione di certificati, tentativi di sblocco, modifiche delle password, stato di boot e persino hash SHA256 del binario eseguito.
Altro aspetto ancora più importante: la retention fino a 12 mesi e la conservazione cifrata nel Google Account dell'utente, con rilascio sotto il suo controllo. Questo può cambiare parecchio anche la metodologia dell'incident response, dato che in molti casi che analizziamo l'evento sospetto è avvenuto settimane o mesi prima dell'acquisizione forense.
iVerify evidenzia, correttamente, diversi limiti: le applicazioni che utilizzano autonomamente DNS-over-HTTPS possono sottrarre parte dell'attività DNS alla visibilità di IL, non viene conservata la cronologia delle reti Wi-Fi, negli eventi d'installazione manca la provenienza dell'installer, le sessioni ADB interattive non registrano necessariamente ciò che viene digitato nella shell e infine il backup non è realtime e possono mancare le ultime 12–24 ore.

In the X iOS app, the pagination cursor seems to be shared between the Posts and Replies tabs on a user’s profile. This causes the timeline to become corrupted when switching between the tabs, or it prevents additional pages from loading.
