This January 1973 KERA-Ch. 13 clip looks at the life of #carhops at The Prince of Hamburgers (5200 Lemmon); it also has a few sad panning shots of the recently closed Gentry's drive-in (SE corner of Maple & Oak Lawn), which opened in 1933. @SMUJonesFilm https://t.co/swR0DkqAcK

. @sonicdrivein Hey, love the app... use it all the time, convenient and quick with the check in, but I never carry cash and use my sonic card to pay... I feel like a jerk because I can’t tip your amazing #Carhops Please can we add a tip feature so I can treat them properly??

Our restaurants and business owners are a creative group that will find ways to serve patrons regardless of the pandemic. A fun vintage affair, #carhops are making a resurgence statewide and are enjoying a renewed sense of optimism. https://t.co/YJxOrVVYHP

#TodayInDeath 2006: Unpaid state taxes kill the last 2 remaining #PigStand restaurants in the US. Founded in Texas, 1921, Pig Stand was the first #DriveIn in America and was made famous by its #carhops (a term later stolen by co-assassinator Sonic). #NoBetterDeath
