Had some company today! Love to see wildlife while kayak tournament fishing, and it was a good day for it : mild, overcast and breezy.
I placed just outside the money with a small limit. Never did find any bigger bites, but I caught bass in bunches. Pre-spawn fish, too!

Reviewing some footage from last week's #CCKF event, I noticed how my best fish of the day was the result of a great cast into a small window, but also one that I nearly botched by reaching for the net too early.

It was a nail biter, but I did it. I needed a top 5 finish or my season was probably over in the #CCKF Angler of the Year race. I filled my limit & culled once with less then an hour to spare. A very tough bite: only 4 angers landed a limit…
Whew!
I had my mid season break.
Now I’m fishing my third Saturday tournament in a row. I’m tired, barely alive in the CCKF AOY race, and there’s no room for error.

After a month without tournaments, I dove into the 2nd half of the season and came up with a top 10 finish. It was a struggle in this heat but I capped my limit in the final hour!

Interesting day of practice. I found the catfish bite! Was tempted to bring one home for dinner but let it go instead. Hopefully I’ll find some bass before the #CCKF tournament on Saturday!

I did it! I knew a couple of good bites would put me over the 10k mark on TourneyX but I had no idea my anchor fish would be the one!!! After landing & submitting it, my total length for judged fish was 10,018”.
And I have it all on video!
