It was a beautiful day to advocate for publicly funded education in Ontario yesterday! #OntEd #ClassSizeMatters

📚 Alberta’s classrooms are overcrowded. Students deserve more support & teachers need manageable class sizes.

Every "excellent teacher" would quit.
At 50, it becomes classroom management, not teaching. Any individualized attention is gone. Any relationship building is gone. Safety, feedback, and learning environment all suffer.
And no, tech doesn't change that.

I would rather have 50 kids in a classroom with an excellent teacher than 10 kids in a classroom with a poor teacher.

After a big internal meltdown this weekend, I am resolved to accept that I simply can’t be the awesome teacher I know I am with 130 students. They’ll get minimal feedback because that’s all I have time to give while also being able to enjoy my non-work life.

I have 160 students in AP Lit this year. I make it work but they are not able to get feedback they really need to grow as writers.
@demetriosnAB Will your ministry be collecting class size data this year?
Large class sizes, well above ACOL, aren't good for the mental health of students or their teachers.
My classes this year:
Chemistry 20 - 36
Chemistry 20 - 38
Science 10 - 38
Science 10 - 39

This is why @CTULocal1's bargaining team needs to scrutinize all @ChiPubSchools data regarding their manipulated class size numbers. Students deserve 1:1 attention. It's impossible to give that to 38 students in 50 minutes. #classsizematters
It’s been a minute since I have had more than 25 kids in my class
I have 30 this year
For anyone boldly claiming class size doesn’t matter- go teach in a class with 18 kids for a week, then 25, then 30. I guarantee with 💯 certainty you will change your mind
Quite disappointing to hear upper DOE leadership speak publicly against the implementation of the class size law. If there's one thing educators should know, it's that #ClassSizeMatters
As class sizes grow due to budget constraints, the quality of education and individual attention students receive diminishes.
Larger classes are a direct consequence of fewer teachers and resources. #ClassSizeMatters #BudgetCuts
Queens M4L chapter hate group getting a free platform @nypost to spread hate and propaganda. Doesn't matter the headline, it's all hate.

PLACE-aligned parents & right wing hacks @nypost edit board can’t stop obsessing about which they hate more: trans kids or smaller classes & continue rant & rave& spew misinformation & outright lies about both.
Get ready Albany, a bunch of educators are coming to advocate for our schools and students! @uftny @UFT_action @UFTDistrict25 #SOMOS #fixtier6 #classsizematters #fundourschools
Reducing class sizes is game changing for students – and NYS passed a law to secure this reality for children across NY.🗽
But the City & the DOE continue to argue that this can’t happen in NYC. Let’s move beyond excuses.
Reduce class sizes NOW! #classsizematters
The City & the DOE are creating countless excuses for why NYC schools cannot reduce class sizes.
But it’s the law. And schools across NYS are complying.
It’s time to reduce class sizes NOW! #classsizematters
NYS passed a law so NYC students would get what kids in the rest of the state already have – small class sizes.
The City & the DOE use every chance they get to list all the reasons why they won't be able to follow the law.
We can reduce class sizes now! #classsizematters
Our kids only get one chance at a good education. That is why it was so important for #TeamLynn to join @NYCCouncil Education Chair, @RitaJosephNYC @UFT and many others to push for full implementation of smaller class sizes per recently enacted State law.
#classsizematters
We need to put our money where our laws are, because #ClassSizeMatters.
Thanks to years of advocacy, NYS passed a law to reduce class size and improve educational outcomes.
The law has been enacted, but the city hasn't put the money into ensuring we can comply moving forward.
ICYMI: @NYCCouncil member @RitaJosephNYC kicked off the City Hall rally for smaller class sizes. #classsizematters
Public Advocate @JumaaneWilliams comes out in favor of teachers and smaller class size. #classsizematters
This is astounding, but unfortunately, it is so expected. People in "positions of power" attempt to make judgments without considering the implications! Taking a snapshot next to the district office does not qualify you as an education expert. #nocommonsense #classsizematters
BC’s Conservatives have announced our solution to get students out of portables & end shifts for students.
We’re going to allow bigger classes & maintain or improve ratio of teachers-to-students by using savings to hire teachers as needed.
It’s a common sense solution. #bcpoli
