The delegation was accompanied by Paata Kalandadze, ambassador of Georgia to China.
Yu Yunfeng, director-general of the #CLEC, and Yang Zhou, deputy director-general of the #CLEC, met with the delegation.
Givi Mikanadze expressed gratitude to the CLEC for its long-standing support for Chinese language education across Georgia. Focusing on Georgia's practical demands for local Chinese language development, the two sides had in-depth exchanges on topics such as local Chinese language teacher training and recruitment, the rollout of digital and intelligent Chinese language teaching resources, and practical language cooperation between Chinese and Georgian universities, reaching broad consensus.
Following the meeting, the two parties formally signed the memorandum of understanding on Chinese language education cooperation between CLEC under China's Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Education, Science and Youth of Georgia.

The closing event of "Poetry Connects the World: A Global Celebration of Classical Chinese Poetry" was held at the Suiyuan Campus of Nanjing Normal University on June 5.
Co-organized by the #CLEC, Nanjing Normal University, Nanjing University (@NJU1902), and Nanjing University of the Arts, the event gathered over 400 international students from universities across Nanjing.
Participants took part in poetry recitals, experienced the qushui liushang (a traditional flowing wine ritual), and appreciated the poetic beauty of mountains, rivers, wind, and moon in feihualing (a give-and-take poem recitation game in China's traditional culture), immersing themselves in the charm of classical Chinese poetry.

#有朋自远方来 #MeetAtCLEC: A delegation led by Sherzodkhon Kudratkhuja, rector of University of Journalism and Mass Communications of Uzbekistan, visited the #CLEC on March 24. Yu Tianqi, deputy director-general of the #CLEC, met with the delegation.
The discussions focused on launching a "Chinese + Media" specialized course, enhancing the training of local Chinese language teachers, developing online Chinese language teaching, and promoting youth exchanges between China and Uzbekistan. Both parties exchanged in-depth views on these topics and reached a consensus on further pragmatic cooperation to support the cultivation of multidisciplinary Chinese language talent in Uzbekistan.

A specialized training program focusing on teachers' competencies under the guidance of "Chinese Proficiency Grading Standards for International Chinese Language Education" ("Standards") was held in Russia from Oct 27 to 31.
Jointly organized by the #CLEC, the Confucius Institute of the Russian State University for the Humanities in Moscow and the Confucius Classroom at the Academy of Oriental Languages and Culture "Confucius" (St Petersburg), the five-day program attracted more than 300 local Chinese language teachers from across #Russia both online and offline.
Distinguished guests, including Consul General of China in St Petersburg Luo Zhanhui, Minister-Counselor of Education at the Embassy of China in Russia Cao Shihai, Vice-Rectors from Russian State University for the Humanities Olga Pavlenko & Vera Zabotkina, addressed the opening ceremony.
Eight renowned experts from leading Chinese institutions, including Beijing Foreign Studies University (@bfsu_official), #BeijingLanguageandCultureUniversity, East China Normal University (@ECNUER), Nanjing University (@NJU1902), Central University of Finance and Economics (@CUFE1949), and Foreign Language Teaching and Research Press (#FLTRP), delivered comprehensive lectures and practical guidance.
The sessions covered the detailed interpretation on the "Standards", comparisons between Chinese and European standards, instructional design strategies, classroom activities, as well as the effective teaching of Chinese characters and culture.

A delegation from the China-Southeast Asia Vocational Education and Training Group visited the #CLEC on Aug 20.
Comprising over 40 government officials, university and vocational college presidents, and experts in vocational and technical education from 11 Southeast Asian countries, the delegation also included representatives from UNESCO International Research and Training Centre for Rural Education (

), the Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization Regional Centre for Technical Education Development, and various ministries from #Myanmar and #Cambodia. Yu Tianqi, deputy director-general of the #CLEC, met with the delegation and held discussions.
All parties agreed that #China and #SoutheastAsian countries share geographical and cultural ties, with cooperation across various sectors gaining momentum. The ninth World Conference on Sinology 2025 took place in #Shenzhen on June 6.
At the event, Yu Yunfeng (left), director-general of the #CLEC, and Zhu Xinkai (right), executive vice-president of #RenminUniversityofChina, signed a cooperation framework agreement.

The ninth World Conference on #Sinology 2025 kicked off in #Shenzhen, #Guangdong province from June 5 to 7.
Co-hosted by #CLEC and #RenminUniversityofChina, the conference focused on "Understanding China: Sinology in the Age of Artificial Intelligence." Gathering nearly 200 scholars from more than 50 countries the event explored how AI is reshaping sinology and opening new paths for Chinese studies in the field.
During the conference, the "#NewSinologyProgram" postdoctoral project was officially launched. Jointly implemented by the #CLEC and several renowned domestic and international universities, the program aims to cultivate young sinology researchers with a global vision.

The first China–Central Asia Education Ministers' Meeting was held in #Urumqi on May 12.
During the meeting, the #CLEC, along with the Samarkand State Institute of Foreign Languages and Shanghai International Studies University (@SISUShanghai), signed a memorandum of understanding on the establishment of a research center for mutual cultural exchange between #China and Uzbekistan.

The opening ceremony of the "#ChineseBridge" UAE Chinese Language Expansion Program Youth Delegation, organized by the #CLEC and hosted by Tianjin Foreign Studies University, was held at #Tianjin Foreign Studies University on April 7.
The event was attended by officials from the #CLEC, the Tianjin Municipal Government, and the Tianjin Foreign Studies University, as well as the representatives from the "Hundred Schools Project" of Chinese language education in the United Arab Emirates (#UAE), along with 42 students and teachers from the UAE.🌍👩🏫👨🎓
During their visit, students engaged in a variety of activities such as exploring the #GreatWall🏯, watching #pandas🐼, experiencing high-speed train travel🚅, attending classes with Chinese students, and singing🎶together. Immersed in university campuses and high-tech enterprises, they delved into the Chinese language, gained insights into China, and experienced the multifaceted development dynamics of China. The participants expressed their eagerness to excel in mastering the Chinese language and expressed hopes of fostering stronger bonds as ambassadors of friendship🤝between #China and the #UAE.
Currently, 171 schools in the UAE, spanning from kindergartens to primary and secondary schools, offer Chinese language courses. Over 71,000 students are actively learning the Chinese language, encompassing nearly one-third of public schools across the UAE.
