Agreed, this was the first virtual conference I attended for several days and each panel was a true inspiration. I walk away with many notes. Great to have agence as the key theme. PS: love it when conferences have themes, which is not the norm in many traditions #comfor2020

@Ashumi1992 and Anke Marie Bock just gave an amazing talk about different charaterisations of Death (shoutout to the one from #SPN!) and the stereotypes connected w/it. They focused on the one in #Sandman, but then they moved on to fan fiction as well. Loved it!

It's so wonderful to see Safiyya Hosein now present her findings on Muslim Manga Fandom. Arab manga artists are doing great work! Local, non-Japanese manga deserve more attention; they are often such great cultural blends๐#comfor2020

Scott: Bitch Planet tattoos reproduce the value of non-compliance as an iconography & can even turn into a political power disconnected from the text. Mash-ups of the logo (e.g. with lgbtq+ flag) convey identity too. Great insights into the lived body of favs here! ๐ #comfor2020
