Evidently, it’s also “tradition” to restrict access to healthcare for transsexuals, what with the UCP blocking all treatment for minors and delisting all treatments for adults. Funny, how that “tradition” didn’t even get mentioned until recently. It never came up during the election. But like in the Tea-party-Republican parts of the United States, FUCKING POLITICAL POLLING has determined that enough of YOU can be convinced that trans people are a threat to single them out for abuse. Because this is about YOU! Are you threatened by trans people? Have you ever met one? If they are such a threat, there must be a famous case of a horrible trans person. Can you name one? You can’t, because you don’t even know why it’s an issue, do you? It’s an issue because the pig ignorant racists and roughnecks that make up the Alberta Conservatives base are convinced it’s an issue by American Christian cult members. Because they have no imagination of their own, Smith and her cronies have seized on this culture issue to hide their incompetence and their theft of opportunities and wealth from Albertans. I am reminded that we had “Christian” leaders in Alberta for all the decades when we were a have not province. Most of you won’t remember when this province was poor as dirt, bars were segregated by sex, and our population was close to Saskatchewan. But goddam, you seem nostalgic for it. If YOU don’t agree with Smith’s plot to destroy Alberta, you had better get loud about it. If you do agree with Smith, you don’t want to talk to me. I will not hold back my outrage.
