Today, on the #InternationalDayOfSignLanguages , we celebrate the importance of linguistic diversity, accessibility, and inclusion.
The 🇪🇺#EU has consistently worked with 🇿🇼Zimbabwe’s Deaf community — from #CreativeActions2 programmes that used theatre and drama to promote inclusive cultural expression, to supporting the first ever live sign language interpretation of the #NAMA Awards in 2022, and ensuring sign language participation at the #TeamEurope @ZITF1 stand, including interpretation during tours of our stand and the our #TeamEurope press conference.
Our commitment is simple: equal access and opportunities for all.

📚 Nhaka yeVana by @NdotoKids has just released children’s books in local languages — Isifiso sika Shumo, Marwei, Chichemo chaShumo, Potsi neShamwari, and uKunye Labangane. These illustrated stories will be shared widely with young readers, nurturing a love for reading and celebrating 🇿🇼Zimbabwe’s rich cultural heritage.
