In Haridwar, the relationship between the city and the Ganga is being actively redefined. What was once unmanaged discharge is now being brought under planned, scientific sanitation systems. With 145+ MLD treatment capacity, upgraded STPs at Jagjeetpur and Sarai, interception and diversion of drains, and septage integration, the city has built a functional treatment ecosystem around one of the most sacred stretches of the river. This is not symbolic change, it is infrastructure-led protection of the Ganga. Haridwar operates under extreme pressure during festivals and pilgrimages, where the sanitation load multiplies rapidly. The strengthened systems are designed precisely for this reality. An increasing share of wastewater is now captured, conveyed and treated before it reaches the river, with treatment plants operating at scale and peak loads being scientifically managed. CGWB, WCR, Ahmedabad organized a one-day workshop at Conference Hall, GWRDC, Gandhinagar, to share SOPs for Ground Water Quality Data Analysis, Ground Water Level Data Analysis, and Validation, Integration, Use, and Reporting of High-Frequency Groundwater Level Data (DWLRs). Dr. Ratikanta Nayak (Regional Director, CGWB, WCR) welcomed Shri P. V. Vyas, Managing Director, GWRDC, and Dr. R. C. Jain, Advisor, GWRDC. Shri Karam Singh (Scientist-C) presented SOP for Ground Water Quality Data Analysis; Smt. Ariba Kamaal (Scientist-C) presented SOPs for Ground Water Level Data Analysis and DWLR data management. The Managing Director, GWRDC, noted Gujarat lacks SOPs for GW quality and level monitoring and agreed to form joint Ground Water Level and Quality Monitoring Cells with CGWB for data coordination. He supported a single platform for GW data and periodic coordination meetings. National Institute of Hydrology, North Western Regional Centre, Jodhpur (Deptt. of Water Resources, RD & GR, MoJS, Govt. of India) participated in the Agricultural Science Fair-2026 organized by Agriculture University, Jodhpur, on 14th February 2026, with the theme of “Marusthal Mein Viksit Krishi: Atmanirbhar Bharat.” The Centre showcased its work in agricultural water management, groundwater assessment, hydrological modelling, climate resilience, and water conservation technologies for arid and semi-arid regions. The stall attracted strong engagement from farmers, researchers, students, and policymakers seeking practical solutions for efficient irrigation and sustainable agriculture.

CGWB, NCR, Bhopal organized a one-day CGWA Workshop on streamlining No Objection Certificate (NOC) processes for groundwater extraction and enhancing regulatory compliance at Pithampur Industrial Area, Dhar District, Madhya Pradesh. The session was presided over by Shri Himanshu Prajapati, IAS, Executive Director, MPIDC, with participation from 63 representatives of industrial firms. Technical guidance covered BHUNEER Portal navigation, CGWA guidelines and SOPs for industrial applications, and compliance enforcement, including penalty structures, Environmental Compensation, and withdrawal management.
