Part of #ctc19 weekend was the work we did with @wikidata @WikiCommons on #Aberdeen Provosts,ships etc. Blog posts coming soon. Here are some impressive stats. Thanks to @lirazelf of @wikimediauk who not only supported but was really involved! @codethecity

Actually a bit more. Here are the stats so far for #ctc19. Loads of #wikidata created in last two days plus images on #wikicommons AND the stuff outside the #wikimedia family such as transcribing almost 4,000 #Aberdeen Harbour Board arrivals! #LockdownEaster

#ctc19 'history + data = innovation' for #aberdeen #harbour and #provosts led to 149k words added to @Wikimedia @wikidata along with a small website on harbour arrivals for 1914-1920. Thanks to all who helped out this weekend. It was great fun working with you via zoom & slack :)

At #ctc19 our 3 @codethecity teams are working hard on #aberdeen data. The 'Provosts' pulled a list of Aberdeen Provosts from Wikipedia; putting a spreadsheet with basic info together to bulk-create those individuals as new items in Wikidata, using a tool called Quickstatements.

The #aberdeen 'harbour entries' team at #ctc19 is cleaning up the data of ship names, exploring visualisation options, and adding notes and weather data to 'on this day in history' for the website that hosts the data for this @codethecity team

#ctc19 'built ships' team built scraper to pull data from Aberdeen Built Ships site. Now have the field values for all the ships dumped into a JSON file. Next steps are to look at cleaning that up a bit and figuring out what it would look like in wikidata #aberdeen @codethecity

#ctc19 (the video version) for @codethecity is off to a sure start with 9 people looking at #aberdeen harbour entries 1914-1920, boats built in the city, and its provosts. Nice combo of zoom, slack and google docs :)
