Huebes ng madaling araw, Dutch time, ay nag direct message sa akin ang isang farmers group mula sa Mariveles, Bataan. Detalyado at mahaba ang mensahe nila. Sinampahan ng mga farmers si Myla at Harry Roque, at iba pang Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) officials ng grave misconduct (land grabbing case) noong January 2023 sa Ombudsman (see screenshot of complaint). Si Myla ay ang misis ni Roque na nagmamayari ng First Bataan Mariveles Holding Corp. (FBMHC), isang 50-50 partnership sa pagitan ng Biancham Holdings Corp. at Green Miles Realty Corp. Nakaplanong mag-invest ng P1.8 bilyon para sa proyekto sa township na may koneksyon sa isang POGO hub. Ang managing director ng Biancham ay si Myla, ayon sa mga mangbubukid. Here I quote segments from the farmer's long message: "Sa Ombudsman po kami nagsampa ng kaso last 2023 hanggang ngayon po ay wala pang resolution ang Ombudsman kung dapat isampa sa Sandiganbayan ang kaso o idismis niya. Si Ombudsman Martires po ay close friend ni Harry Roque... Nagmarcha po kami dati sa Senate, pati sa House of Representatives, wala po nangyari. Kahit po mga media ayaw kami ibalita (noon)..." The 77 farmers alleged the land (around 421 hectares) they used to occupy under the CAR law are now controlled by FBMHC which displaced 127 families who are now squatting on a beach in Mariveles (See screenshots of farmers' rally). The farmers claimed their titles were 'surreptitiously' revoked by the Land Registration Authority (LRA) in 2019, which was then headed by a Duterte- appointed official. There were other details they sent me, certainly useful for another post here in the coming weeks. Abangan. Tututukan natin itong kaso. I also hope Philippine-based journalists would follow up this case and verify its status at the Ombudsman. Better yet, the media should engage the farmers and ask for further details. And Mr. Roque, how about withdrawing your asylum request before the Dutch authorities thrash it? One bad news, Mr. Roque. Last Tuesday, the Dutch media reported the case of Mikael, an 11-year old boy and his mother. They are Armenian asylum seekers who asked for asylum in 2019 from the IND. They were again denied asylum status this week, after a higher court reaffirmed its earlier ruling. Unlike you Harry, I consider Mikael and his mother as genuine asylum seekers. I feel bad for them for not getting the chance to live normal lives. Meanwhile, here you are jumping the long asylum queue in the Netherlands by exploiting gaps in procedures with wily legal know-how. You own a profitable lawyering business in the Philippines, and was the recipient of a seven digit annual income during the DU30 regime. With your fat bank account, why expect a monthly doleout (living allowance, excluding food) of 60 euros (around 3,500 pesos) from the Dutch government? Is cheerleading for the punitive Duterte apparatus not lucrative enough? You even dangled the red card in your coloring book to cover all the bases. Isn't your gameplan too obvious? And where did you get the guts ('apog' in Filipino) to claim you're being threatened and politically persecuted when your Facebook page crawls with destabilization threats thrown at the Marcos regime, plus the unfounded accusations against, ironically enough, the Dutch government?
