There sure has been a lot of recent interest in the hormone #amylin. You had $NVO continuing to push #Cagrisema (combo of Semaglutide and #Cagrilintide which is a Dual Amylin and Calcitonin Receptor Agonist (#DACRA)) followed by another NME- #Amycretin (also a GLP1 plus Amylin analog) disclosed in May at their investor day. Then there was Zealand’s #Petrelintide another amylin analog ( not be confused with Zeal's Survodutide, the GLP1/Glucagon agonist).
The one common thread between all of these Amylin related therapies so far that have reached human trials is they either had a lot of tolerability issues or the company doing the testing has obfuscated what has been the tolerability profile (To be clear, I’m insinuating NVO)
Now you have Viking disclosing that they are working on Dual Amylin and Calcitonin Receptor Agonists (DACRAS) in pre-clinical models. Can $VKTX minimize side effects in a new combo drug? Are they planning a Amlyin/Calcitonin combination say with another drug having an exceptionally good tolerability profile like #VK2735?
