Pictures show rescue efforts were underway, bit the reported did not disclose further details about the cause of the accident. The Dire Dawa–Dewele route is part of a section of the historic, French-built, narrow-gauge railway line that runs between the Ethiopian city of Dire Dawa and the border town of Dewele.

This comes after 57 people tested +ve for the virus y'day alone, 55 of whom from #Dewele quarantine center. Meanwhile, 13 officials from the region are under quarantine after coming in contact with a senior official who tested +ve for #COVID19. 1 of the 13 has already tested +ve
