Beware Kendall’s mass transit density area. Traffic jams in Kendall and South Dade remain perpetual and expensive headaches. They reflect major shortfalls in county planning that included Gimenez time as mayor. Today, more than 8,000 single family homes are within Kendall’s “mass transit density area”, which is essentially an invitation to developers to build. Preserving the character and feel of these neighborhoods will concern many of us, as will standing in the crosshairs of developers. It’s less of a not-in-my-neighborhood question. It’s a question whether players in Miami-Dade’s pay-to-play environment will continue playing their games. In Congress I’ll shine light on dubious financial links between developers and public officials involved in zoning decisions. I’ll also push to establish an interagency task force on public corruption to deter bad behavior and increase public trust in zoning and development decisions. https://t.co/UTqYDcSS7O

Miami-Dade residents deserve to know what could be built in their neighborhoods before an application catches them by surprise. ProtectDade uses the County’s own live GIS data to show whether your address falls within the Kendall Corridor’s transit-density area, and what those policies could allow. Being inside does not mean your property has been rezoned or that a project has been filed. It means you should know the rules before they reach your block. Check your address at https://t.co/81RdIUd93A. Remember, informed residents cannot be ignored.
