He further noted that the focus will be on organic bananas and that working with the #dmdpprogramme consortium members, they will teach the local farmers on "tricks" that will help them improve their yields.

Wanda Agriculture board chairman Mr. Darmendra Oturi noted that through the #dmdpprogramme, they are leveraging on ICT to enhance relationships with smallholder farmers. In addition, they will establish 6 sophisticated collection centres as farmers want more shared space

The DMDP project targets 2,000 smallholder farmers and will roll out interventions geared towards creation of over 500 direct decent jobs for the locals and engage over 1,200 service providers throughout the project cycle. #DMDPProgramme
As we draw closer to the launch of #dmdpprogramme we visited a lead farmer, Mr. Abdul Nzaro Bakari, a lead farmer from Ngutini farm estate. He expressed great optimism in the project's implementation model which he said will benefit the smallholder farmers in Taveta.
