Very productive was my engagement with Hon. Justice Barnabas Nyamadzabo, Chairman of the Independent Electoral Commission (#IEC) of the Republic of #Botswana, on the sidelines of the High-Level Harmonisation Meeting of #AU Panel of Facilitators on #eDRC Peace Process & the Independent Joint Secretariat. We shared experiences on electioneering process, and I particularly recalled appreciatively, the peaceful conduct of #Botswana's election in October 2024 under the leadership of Hon. Justice Barnabas. We agreed on shared interests and jointly identified new areas of collaborative engagement between the #AUC & #IEC.
Rwanda is providing safe passage and an escort for convoys of SAMIDRC troops and equipment withdrawing from eastern DRC through Rwanda to Tanzania. The presence of SAMIDRC troops was always a complicating factor in the conflict, and today’s start of withdrawal marks a positive step in support of the ongoing peace process.

Try to abreast yourself with the facts of what happens in #EDRC then you’ll broaden yr knowledge of #Rwanda’s case & not fall 4 propaganda by #Kinshasa & their conflicted allies.
President @PaulKagame and Rwanda must not violate #DRC sovereignty in the guise of fighting for the rights of a community. That community does not belong to Rwanda, but #DRC. Sending troops into another country and arming rebels for #EDRC gold cannot be justified. It must STOP!

@UrugwiroVillage @NadiaKabalira IC & these other conflicted neighbors who hardly get to learn from history & never want the truth. The Summit couldn’t even condemn the atrocities committed against those persecuted communities in #EDRC and the resultant refugee crisis.
