I'll be presenting "Refactoring to Eclipse Collections: Making Your Java Streams Leaner, Meaner, and Cleaner" at the @GardenStateJUG meetup on April 14, 2026. Join to learn more reasons to refactor to #EclipseCollections.

Thousands of subtle design decisions were made in #EclipseCollections over the years. I write about them so folks have the benefit of being able to learn from them many years later. The methods with/without, withAll/withoutAll are interesting cases. π

Many of us seem to be counting the days during these strange times. In this blog, you will learn how to count the days using #Java Streams and how to make the days count using #EclipseCollections.

The #EclipseCollections #Java library has been FREE and OSS since Dec. 25, 2015. To celebrate the 10 year anniversary, you can get a free Kindle version of the "Eclipse Collections Categorically" book on Dec. 24 & 25, 2025 and Jan. 1, 2026. Happy Holidays! π€ π₯

The end of 2025 is drawing near. It's time to plan the next 5 years of #EclipseCollections. This month marks the 10th anniversary of Eclipse Collections as a project at the Eclipse Foundation. π
Look back 5 years to see the plan and mark the progress. π

My latest blog: Mind Maps Didn't Make Me Scroll
It only took me a few years to realize that mind maps could help me communicate the package design in the api and impl jars for the #EclipseCollections OSS #Java library. Lesson learned and shared. π

My latest blog: Refactoring to #EclipseCollections with #Java 25 at the #dev2next Conference
I really enjoyed giving this talk last week at @dev2next with my friend and co-speaker @zakhav.
Enjoy! π

Just upgraded the project for my @dev2next talk w/ @zakhav to #Java 25. The project uses #EclipseCollections 13.0, and works just fine. EC 13.0 works w/ Java 17+. Not there yet? EC 12.0 supports Java 11+. Stuck in a "tech coma"? EC 11.1 supports Java 8+. π
After 21 years of developing, using, teaching, collaborating, blogging, podcasting, writing a book about #EclipseCollections, one thing motivates me to keep going.
There are millions of #Java developers that don't know what they have been missing for 21 years.
IYK, then LTK. π
Published a release blog for the back to back releases of Eclipse Collections 12.0 (Java 11+) and 13.0 (Java 17+).
Thanks to all of our users, contributors, and advocates! πCongrats and welcome to our two newest #EclipseCollections committers! ππ

While I don't know how many #Java developers use #EclipseCollections, I do know that EVERY #Java developer benefits from EC, because it is an active member of the OpenJDK Quality Outreach Program. EC reports issues it finds π in its EA OpenJDK testing. π

My latest blog: There is No Mute Button
After ~10 years of #EclipseCollections, I share thoughts on building credibility, branding, defining and measuring success, growing an open source community, the importance of networking and authenticity.

Look what showed up at my door! #EclipseCollections Categorically by @TheDonRaab! Also, hardcover! Can't wait to see how the final book has become! π

The #EclipseCollections repo on GitHub recently passed 2,500 stars. The project marks 10 years @EclipseFdn this year. 250 stars per year is modest, but steady growth. Thank you to everyone that starred the repo, and congrats to the contributors! π π
