A 5-year-old boy in an almajiri school? Unbelievable🤦🏾♂️💔
#EndAlmajiriSystem
@JaafarSJaafar Government and the culture that threw these children on the streets.
#EndAlmajiriSystem
I don’t think this type of Almajiri system should be existing in 2024.
It should be banned, a child below the age of this age should be in his father’s house not in the streets.

Pictures taken by @ummijallo earlier today.
The #Almajiri children are people too.
I am 100% sure these kids wanted some rest after hours of endless roaming and begging around Kaduna State. We need to act now. #ReformAlmajiri #EndAlmajiriSystem #WakeUpNigeria #JHF
Let the kids go to western schools in the morning and attend the Islamic education in the evening. Let the child be closely taken care of by his parents. #EndAlmajiriSystem
The previous administration tried to take a total overhaul of the system by establishing cutting-edge Almajiri schools. This momentum wasn't sustained as the schools are not functioning as expected. It's already dead on arrival .

...But many of these upcoming youths had their future bastardized since childhood. #EndAlmajiriSystem
The reason we're calling for scrapping of Almajiri System is because the system is no longer working. The aim is been murdered for long and it's high time our northern elite to intervene and bring end to this source of persistent trouble. #EndAlmajiriSystem
You initially display carefree attitude towards pampering him while you have all the resources to do that. Be prepared to receive the same treatment after your child that went through. #EndAlmajiriSystem ...
Producing potential gangsters is one thing again. The brain that couldn't learn ethics is likely to dive into the company of racketeers. That child you threw on the street will have no sympathy for you as a parent. #EndAlmajiriSystem
They won't sponsor the poor child because when election comes. They will be short of political thugs to employ #EndAlmajiriSystem
I can comfortably put some blame on the elites who send their kids to schools but use the Almajiri as a houseboy. Some have the power to end it but what do you expect from people that are more interested in political ambitions than the masses. #EndAlmajiriSystem
From Child Abuse, drugging and to a lot of illegitimate acts. Don't think it's difficult to persuade him into these criminal acts because of the responsibilities that I mentioned above which are laid down by the teachers, and they must be obeyed unfailingly. #EndAlmajiriSystem
Another terrible outcome that sets off a chain of additional disadvantage to the current system of Almajiri is the fact that they're exposed to a lot of danger. It's very easy to mislead the poor child that's living hand-to-mouth. #EndAlmajiriSystem
Aside searching for food, the Mallams work with them in the farms, they pay money every Wednesday (Kudin laraba), they're responsible for all upkeeps and so on. #EndAlmajiriSystem
Hours they spend searching for handouts are far bigger than that of reading. One of the mind touching part is that the poor Almajiri is refrained from access to quality education. #EndAlmajiriSystem
The Almajiri would wake up every day not knowing what to eat or the means to secure substantial meal. This always rob him of determined mind to focus on his studies. The irresolute mind of him would now be forced to polarise — reading or what to eat. #EndAlmajiriSystem
