In the twilight of the internet’s golden age—before the rise of platform hegemony, before story feeds flattened all forms into loopable gestures—there were pockets of the web that felt enchanted. Not merely “cool,” but charged. Strange little liminal zones built by people who still believed in the emotional potential of code. One of them never left.
His name is Tengushee—a moniker borrowed from folklore, tangled in Faerie politics, and now whispered through a sprawling mythos known as The Endless Chronicles. An award-winning creative with a BAFTA-team-heavy past and a cultish present, Tengushee operates less like a modern digital artist and more like a bard filtered through a terminal window.
The world he’s built is immense: warring fae courts, sentient rats, broken trods that span collapsed realms. Characters like The Raven and The Fox move with the gravitas of epic poetry, even as they speak through glitchwave audio files and animated zines. His collaborators—many of them known only by handles like RAZ and GlitchGr4ve—work not in studios but in what Tengushee might call “ritual nodes.” The work is dark. Beautiful. Technically exacting and yet defiantly unstable.
What’s most striking is not the scale of The Endless Chronicles, but its refusal to cater to the usual feedback loops. There is no onboarding. No explainer video. No sleek UI to reassure you. Tengushee offers his world like a door left slightly ajar. Step in if you like, but you’ll need to bring your own lantern.
Offscreen, he is elusive. Interviews are rare. The mythology he tends has consumed the man—or perhaps replaced him. Even his past is half-coded: a youth shaped by mythic trauma, children’s media that veered into existential horror, and an extended exile in corporate design work where, by his own admission, “I hid magic in the margins.”
Now, in what he calls the “post-retirement phase,” Tengushee is quietly building something we haven’t had in a very long time: a system of meaning designed not to extract, but to restore. A digital realm that remembers ritual. That invites its users not to consume—but to witness.
It is hard to describe exactly what he is doing. But then again, it’s hard to describe myth—until you find yourself living inside one.
