So, inspired by a workshop with @PRHSspanish, I started a French class instagram thingy. I have no idea what I'm doing, but my students are so excited! (like, sooo excited!) Now I need to go back and rewatch it on #expressfluency to figure out how to live up to their enthusiasm!

Tina mixes in frequent, varied comprehension checks. She stops mid sentence from time to time and breaks away from French to ask, "What am I asking?" or "What did I just say?" or "Show me the gesture for __" #expressfluency @ExpressFluency @ciliftoff https://t.co/FWqta89xJN
Tina just moved to the back of the room to keep teaching. Instant attention refresh! Now we are facing the opposite direction, turned in our chairs to see her #expressfluency @ExpressFluency @ciliftoff #useyourspace
After reading together with her class, Tina asks in English, "Was there anything interesting about French that you noticed?" One student said, "silent letters" #expressfluency @ExpressFluency @ciliftoff Tina didn't offer explanation, just said, oh yeah, nice! and pointed some out
Pop up grammar: don't pop up every grammatical feature in every reading! Do one here and there. You have all year!! #expressfluency @ExpressFluency @ciliftoff
When doing choral translation, Tina has her students first vote to translate as we would speak or as 'the Shakespeare way' (word by word in the target language, even if it translates a little backward sounding in L1) #expressfluency @ExpressFluency @ciliftoff
