So, Musk actually reinstated Trump's account.
That's it, I'll soon be locking my acct here & moving permanently to Mastodon.
I like being able to follow #FediBlock and see the constant hard work admins and mods do to keep the community safe in realtime. Unlike wtv goes on here.
@mlmillerphd @sjjphd re: blocklists and moderation, I'm seeing people use #FediBlock to circulate announcements about problematic instances for conscientious instance admins to block/defederate. I expect there will be quick evolution of more robust processes to partially automate this soon
I am still concerned about racism, but I’ve been seeing the n-word a lot with policies that mean transphobia on here that was already AWFUL to get worse. I think defederation, #fediblock and the anti-racist advocates I follow now calm me a little, but I’m still vigilant !
It feels icky like it’s capitalizing on pain, but I truly believe that tools that WE implement based off of specific experience and share with each other like #fediblock and Ethical Source Licenses will continue to push forward a movement of ethical tech.

Is there a mastodon equivalent to shared blocklist on birbsite?
My ONE frustration on running my own instance of Mastodon is that there is no API for moderating federation. I really want to be able to create shared lists of #fediblock instances, but right now it is a MESS.
