#feedstrategytip When heat stress occurs it's important to relieve the rumen as much as possible. Adding live yeasts to the ration, feeding more rumen-bypass proteins & fats, and a more constant starch source can ease the burden on the rumen.

#feedstrategytip Don't feed too much undigestible fiber in the ration. Summer rations should be lower in undigestible fibre (uNDF) so the rumen microbe activity isn't heating up the cows. A uNDF around 9-10% is optimal. A cow must always keep chewing! #canadiandairy
