@thatone0022 @MelbOnTransit @aussiewongm @SarahConnollyMP The new #186bus to West Tarneit station announced in May 2025 #GAIC package should cover the area west of Derrimut Rd but little detail so far
#FlexiRide #VictoriaBusPlan #Tarneit
Long hops for the Easter bunny in #Rowville & #Lysterfield today 🐭🏡
Seems @VenturaBus & #PTV decided Easter Sunday is a public holiday timetable so no #681bus #682bus until Tuesday (although they ran yesterday)
And local #FlexiRide doesn't run weekends ❌️
#VictoriaBusPlan
@thatone0022 @MelbOnTransit @nomdegur Given the silos within #DTP would take this with a grain of salt but #FlexiRide will apparently serve proposed #TarneitWest station

Bold reformers: #LXRP #MetroTunnel
Steady managers: #MetroTrains #YarraTrams #RegionalRailRevival electric buses, carparks, G-class
Status quo defenders: bus network reform, accessible tram stops, tram extensions, #Vlocity orders
Dangerous gamblers: #FlexiRide
This comment is the general consensus of #FlexiRide across outer Melbourne...🚍
Nothing more than a glorified taxi service but little being done to improve efficiency
#VictoriaBusPlan
Booked out despite plenty of empty seats...#FlexiRide is simply a glorified taxi service using buses
The 154 & 155 replacements can't come soon enough for #Tarneit North & #Truganina
#VictoriaBusPlan @dylanwightlabor @SarahConnollyMP
We tried to book a Flexiride in Tarneit but couldn’t because “all the buses are sold out today” but the driver let us come along for one of his runs anyway
@MelbOnTransit @TrueBelievers15 Area between Croydon & Lilydale also needs immediate addressing - 675 680 don't run at all weekends plus no Sunday service on 671 672 677 689 or various #FlexiRide areas
#VictoriaBusPlan
@MelbOnTransit And even if not using #FlexiRide to leave the #Melton area, the young retail shop assistant needing to be at #Woodgrove for a 10am Sunday start can't rely on it doing the job adequately
At the whims of the algorithm and how many vehicles rostered 😒
#VictoriaBusPlan
@aussiewongm @declanmartin75 In 80s/90s shorter feeder routes in 600 & 700 series were either closed, joined into longer routes and/or renumbered around Southland (820-series)
Mooroolbark feeders now #TeleBus / #FlexiRide
Feeder networks remain common in west - eg Melton, Sunbury & Point Cook
@MelbOnTransit Hopes of Spring 2022 all but withered & died
1,000 days into #VictoriaBusPlan: more #FlexiRide, a few local changes, dozens of electric buses & squeezed out family operators
Not fixed: 40 min/hourly timetables, indirect routes, Sunday gaps, connection issues & high fare evasion
Careem, a major ride-hailing player, rebounds with 'Flexi Rides,' aiming to regain market. New feature lets users set their own fares for Go, Go Mini & Bike rides. Innovating like inDrive & Bykea.

@danielbowen @veedub3057 @silas_pc @DrMurgy @theage #Melbourne can't get much right
#900bus #SmartBus from #MonashUni to #Rowville every 10 mins should be worthy of praise, even has bus lanes along parts of Wellington Rd
But fails to penetrate Rowville without obvious extension onto #FerntreeGully - left to book a #FlexiRide bus
#VictoriaBusPlan progress 2 years on:
✅ Dozens of electric buses across #Melbourne
✅ #FlexiRide in outer suburbs
❌ Sunday services/9pm finishes on many routes electric buses run
❌ Frequency upgrades & route reform in inner/middle suburbs
❌ #SmartBus weekend upgrades
[Blog] Victoria's Bus Plan turns two today. It should be a time for celebration with service achievements galore. Yet, it finds itself a comatose toddler with survival not assured. Read here for a way forward.

#HurtstbridgeLine Duplication Stage 2 complete: Semi-rural #Hurstbridge gains 20 min peak trains but zero offpeak upgrades
And begs the question on what purpose does parallel #343bus (added in 2017 with Stage 1) now serve? Ripe for review with #StHelena #FlexiRide coming soon
[Blog] Lots has been built and there's some new train timetables starting later this month. Here's a look at what they offer for Hurstbridge/ Mernda and Belgrave/ Lilydale line passengers. https://t.co/ucro7LTQ8x #springst

Quiet start for 1st weekday morning of #TarneitNorth #FlexiRide, with 3 Ponchos waiting for bookings at #Tarneit Station just before 8:30am
On loan to @CDCVictoria from @cdcnsw (Hillsbus MetroConnect), still on NSW plates
#GetWyndhamMoving
So it seems #TarneitNorth #FlexiRide has not commenced this week as planned (sources suggest delays with vehicles being ready)
Posters at #Tarneit station inadvertently installed (& still up tonight...) - nothing online suggests a starting date

@MelbOnTransit @BenCarrollMP Poster & map for #TarneitNorth #FlexiRide bus
Starts Sunday 2-10, in time for Term 4
Excellent span of hours & follows standard public holiday pattern 👍🤩

@MelbOnTransit Proposed #StHelena #FlexiRide service area
I'd reroute 343 via St Helena Rd to retain a fixed route in area & remove 901 duplication - FlexiRide could offer hub at TAFE/Civic Ctr & extend zone north of Aqueduct Rd
Residents in Lakeview Estate in #Lilydale (680), #Rosebud South (#Flexiride) or #Mitcham East (740) will have no buses from Wednesday night through until Monday morning 😬😒
And many country towns will only have limited buses on Saturday morning over same period
Sept 22 has just been proclaimed a public holiday. It creates a 4 day weekend as Sept 23 is Grand Final Friday. This can leave neighbourhoods without buses for >60 hours. Examples & how to fix them cheaply here: https://t.co/uCMnKIVtrv @BenCarrollMP
We’ve launched the #MeltonSouth #Flexiride - an on-demand bus service connecting locals directly to railway stations, shopping centres and schools. Four new buses will service the area connecting passengers to Cobblebank Station, Melton Station and the Woodgrove Shopping Centre.
