Through our fight to repeal the damaging #ForestConservationAmendmentAct we have stressed on the need to make public the State Expert Committee reports on identification of #forest as per the 202/96 Godavarman judgement. Context: The #FCAA undermines, practically nullifies the 202/96 order which expanded scope of the parent law, FCA,1980 to include #forests as per its dictionary meaning. On being called out, the @MoEFCC assured the JPC (see atached) , a parliamentary Committee—no less—that the Godavarman judgement was not being undermined as alleged, and that #forests would be protected as per the SEC reports (see attached relevant abstracts from JCP report. 2/11
