With the July 4th holiday approaching, you might be thinking about our forefathers. But have you ever wondered what adorned their walls? Wonder no more with "Old Time Wallpapers" a #foundinthestacks resource that gives a history of wallpaper and even includes some examples!

We love these Thanksgiving-themed endsheets that we found in our stacks! These festive pages are from the 1907 book, Thanksgiving: Its Origin, Celebration and Significance as Related in Prose and Verse. #ThanksgivingWeek #HolidayBooks #GobbleGobble #FoundInTheStacks

#Foundinthestacks @BFI #Library - ‘Richard Burton - His Intimate Story’ by Ruth Waterbury (pub. Mayflower Dell, 1965). Bold and striking - very much like the man himself.

This haggadah appears to be a 1924 facsimile of an 1816 copy, but possibly hand colored? Either way, it's a really interesting mix of styles. Also, the first time I've seen I. Mendelssohn's name in the margin as a cataloger. https://t.co/GptiBMP1eN #foundinthestacks

#FoundInTheStacks: At the end of a 1640 book, HLS librarian Mary Person found a 19th-century librarian’s note about a “chasm in paging 172-178.” Mary says: “I’ve seen references to ‘chasms’ many times ... but today it made me smile. A dramatic word to describe a pagination gap!

#FoundintheStacks - we come across all sorts of eye-catching film book covers in our stacks here @BFI #Library so it seems only right we should share them with you. Do you have any in your collection? Let us know and we'll dig out our copy and share.

It's amazing what you can find in a book. Sometimes it's information, sometimes it's a good story and other times it's a New Jersey lottery ticket from almost 19 years ago! #dcsullivanlibrary #foundinthestacks #dominicancollege #librarybooks
