This conversation is just over 3 weeks old between myself (Lazar & Samardzic Day is me) & @methoOd_ when Inter were within 12-24h of completing one of the best transfer windows in a decade. Instead it’s recycling both Arnautovic (at €10m while talking about financial sustainability) & Sensi (hoping he doesn’t get injured). Regardless of how well Inter do this upcoming season, even if they win Serie A, Coppa Italia, Supercoppa & by some miracle the UCL, you have to be completely blind if you don’t see how frozen Suning’s Inter project is. It’s clear as day that the directors can’t close a single deal due to not having power to sign anything without approval by Suning who will not put a penny into investing in this squad more than necessary. Meaning the last three summers is how it’s gonna be for as long Suning own Inter: wage cutting (until reach around €100m gross/year wage bill for squad) & turning a profit from the transfer market to help cover the running costs. Forget +\- mercato. It’s obvious that was another lie. And the management are not beyond reproach either: they make so many unforced errors (Skriniar, Samardzic medical, Lukaku over Dybala Etc). There is no clear vision, no pathway to the future, no project, nothing. Just last minute or stop gap solutions to keep this thing afloat. But as I said, the squad is still good enough to compete for Serie A title (NB compete, not favorites. Also says more about state of Serie A than anything else) & as long as Inter get to the UCL they (owners & management) will continue to gaslight & BS fans into believing their brazen lies about being competitive. And I haven’t even mentioned about the new stadium project either (personally I don’t believe it gets built for as long as Suning owns Inter but hopefully I’m wrong). Let’s just be honest with ourselves: Inter are now at best what Arsenal were under Wenger’s last 5-8 years. Or: Inter’s owners & directors can prove me wrong. I’ll happily eat my own words above but it’s on Inter to show something. But until then the last three years have led to me having zero confidence & belief in this ownership & management.
