Christians sometimes forget:
tradition ≠ Truth
While traditions may hold truth, doing something for a long time doesn't lend it any credibility or legitimacy, in and of itself. #umc #gcumc2019 #gcumc19
Here, in a nutshell, is what a United Methodist general conference is. Brought to you from #TheGoodPlace.

Can anyone link me to coverage of how the United Methodist Church decision is being covered in other countries where the denomination is prevalent?
I'd love to see how voices/perspectives are differently centered #gcumc19
“God is forever in the business of tearing down walls. Every wall. Lament now if you need to, but don’t forget to muster up the laughter of the ones who’ve read the spoilers.” - the brilliant Caitlin Harper re: #gcumc19. So fantastic and giving me life this morning.
Once again I find myself & others like me rejected from the Church I found a home in. Again my calling has been denied. & now mine and others’ sacred worth has been denied. Tonight let us weep. #GC2019 #GCUMC19 #gcumc2019 #UMC #UnitedMethodist #donoharm #LGBTQIA #ithurts
Just a reminder... #gcumc19
Why didn’t the @wesleyancov just go ahead and form their own denom? Because it wasn’t enough to rip apart the very fabric of the largest mainline Protestant denomination. They also had to inflict serious harm on good people, called by God. #gcumc19 #wesleyancovenantassociation
To my LGBTQI friends, neighbors, co-workers, sisters and brothers: You are loved. You are worthy. You are called. You are wanted.
We are all hurting. 🏳️🌈 #gcumc19
I remember GA after @Presbyterian app’d gay marriage. With an anemic theo of Spirit, it is one of few times I’ve felt it. Sad my sibs in @UMChurch don't get to as soon as they should. God's love for LGBT people is an outcome already decided, needs no meeting to ratify. #gcumc19
How is there justice in this decision?! Don’t you dare say there is harm on both sides!!! 🤬🏳️🌈 #GCUMC #gcumc19 #gcumc2019 #unitedmethodist #unitedmethodistchurch #UMC #thisisharmful #reconcilingUnitedMethodist #LGBTQIA #BelovedCreations
#gcumc19 #GCUMC #UMCGC2019 #UMC Well, at the request of a fellow member of the press who went down to the main level, I have phoned the police. Masses of angry people pressing to get in. Eleven cars have responded. Pray for us.
One surprise of #UMC debate is use of sharp & at-times abusive language by Traditional Plan-ers. Wonder if this is an effect of 2-years of broader US #PoliticsToday with the increasing growth of #intolerance normalized by public figures-ie, #Trump & #tweets? #gcumc19 #gc2019 #umc
So interesting people want to pass judgment on clergy who are LGBTQ- but is it ok for clergy to be addicts, thieves, or marry/divorce multiple times? #gcumc19
