Aneirin of flowing verse, prince of bards, survived the Battle of Catraeth where 300 warriors of the Gododdin died. His own death came about when he was struck on the head by Heidyn ab Enygan, which was one of the Three Hatchet-blows and Three Unfortunate Slaughters.#Gododdin

Scottish piper Jimi McRae has a go at reciting a passage in Old Welsh from the Gododdin. The Gododdin has also been claimed as the oldest Scottish poem. In 2009 David Purdie published a translation of Y Gododdin into Scots as 'The Godothin'.

Dublin artist Louis Le Brocquy was noted for his illustrations to Irish epic Táin Bó Cúailnge. He also illustrated Dolmen Press' limited edition of the Gododdin translated by Desmond O'Grady. Le Brocquy drew with his left hand, as his right arm was broken at the time.#Gododdin

This documentary looks at Brith Gof/Test Dept's 1988-89 production of Y Gododdin. It debuted at the abandoned Rover car factory in Cardiff, and used 600 tons of sand, 50 trees, 30 wrecked cars and a set that flooded as the performance progressed.#Gododdin

Welsh theatre company Brith Gof and industrial band Test Dept performed and recorded an adaptation of Y Gododdin in 1988-9. Performances included an abandoned car factory in Cardiff. The bilingual musical performance is still startling today.

The Gododdin survives in Llyfr Aneirin. It is usually counted as the oldest Welsh poem. Set in 6th century south Scotland and north England it has also been styled the oldest Scottish poem and the oldest British poem. It is written in a mix of middle and old Welsh. #Gododdin
