I played in the KY Mid-Am for the 1st time this year at Traditions GC. 1st class tournament at a 1st class course. Big, brawny course w/crazy fast greens and lots of hero opportunities. Playing from the tips took 100% concentration. Had fun and didn't finish DFL! #golf #golf2018

I got to play Valhalla twice this year in the space of a week. It's beautiful, it's hilly and bouncy, and it's manageable from the proper tees. From the tips (my 2nd try) it's brutal, exacting, and unrelenting. Fun to say I've done it. Great club, great clubhouse. #golf #golf2018

Pine Needles is the Sand Hills course I want another crack at. It's Mid Pines, but on such a larger scale, w/ more dramatic features, larger spaces, more rugged appeal. It was holes 55-72 of a 48 hour golfTornado, and I want to see that one again. #golf #golf2018

Mid Pines is my co-favorite course of 2018. It's the opposite of Tobacco Road. It's tight, w/ small greens, intricate fairway & green complex features. The ball can be bounced onto the greens, making it a joy to play w/ strategy. Loved it. Simply loved it. #golf #golf2018

Tobacco Road is a special playgrounds. If it hadn't such a relaxed vibe, it would command reverence in hushed tones. The entire course is filled with postcard-worthy visuals, and it's so much fun to play, and playable by all. I'll visit annually going forward. #golf #golf2018

When I want to smile about golf, I remember my experience at The Cradle. Relaxed. Perfectly crafted. Great greens and "waste areas." Gambling and palling around to begin our Golf Trip. Should be required if you visit. #golf #golf2018

I was unprepared for the beauty of the rugged aesthetic at Dormie Club just outside Pinehurst. Absolutely love that the ground game is available, and the risk-reward decisions are spot on. I want to hug this course. #golf #golf2018

I don't have nice things to say about Lakeside GC. The 653-yard 9th hole plays into the prevailing wind. And it's a nice, strenuous walk. But I had a lot of fun playing the first round of the Lexington City Championship there in #golf2018 #golf Cc: @Eliky81 @Lexgolfperform

Moss Hill GC is a wonderful, 60's era former private course. Meandering thru horse country w/ some of the best green complexes in the area. Lots of contours. Pushed up greens and/or dug out, flat bottom bunkers. I make an annual pilgrimage. Say Hi! to @vincepratherpga #golf2018

Picadome is my first golf home. It's 90 years old. Has Ross-inspired features & green complexes. It's tight. It's Bermuda fairways & bent greens. You can use the ground game on approaches. It's 6,550 yards tipped out. And it's the best walk in Lexington. Love it. #golf #golf2018

Gibson Bay in Richmond (KY) is like exquisite comfort food of golf courses. It's always in good shape, always challenging, always fun, in all 4 seasons. And where I began a love affair with Hurdzan designs. #golf #golf2018

Cherry Blossom is a fun tournament course. Course is always lush...this year it was plain soggy. Good greens and a decent routing. Carded my 1st sub-80 tournament score there this year. #golf #golf2018 Also, had fun creatively spending a pro shop credit there.

The Keene Run course is the companion course to Champions Trace (of Barbasol Championship fame). It's the fun, fair course. A Keith Foster & Drew Rodgers project that doesn't beat you up. With a real Biarritz! #golf #golf2018. A private course worth saying yes to.

The holes of the Donald Ross Course at French Lick are framed beautifully. The bunkering is superb. And I love the wild, gigantic greens. But 3 of 4 par threes being over 200 yards? Not my scene, but I should give it another shot. #golf2018 #golf

Unless you were on the grounds, I don't think most people would believe how much water the Champions Trace course took, and how great a job the grounds crew did under the worst conditions. #barbasolchampionship #teamshotlink #Golf2018

Underrated in the Bluegrass region is Moss Hill GC, a Buck Blankenship course from the late 1960's. It's about accuracy and angles from the tee, holding the pushed up greens on approach, and respecting the contours when putting. Lots of fun to be had here. #Golf2018

1. Great Northern in Denmark. Jack Nicklaus design. I expected very good, but this exceeded all expectations. Clearly money wasn't an issue for this great project. Highly recommended. https://t.co/QBqlZXBvvN #golf2018

4. UGC De Pan in Holland. Harry Colt design. Excellent layout and routing. That I never played this course before is simply a mistake. https://t.co/ltArejVa5S #golf2018
