Following the circulation of a viral video featuring Gujarat tourists, Mishmi Hills Resort in Arunachal Pradesh’s Anini has alleged that its staff faced threats and intimidation following a recent incident involving guests at its property, prompting the hospitality establishment to make the matter public. In a statement, the resort said it has consistently prioritised dialogue, patience and professionalism while serving visitors in the remote mountain destination. However, after the recent incident, the management had expected an apologetic and responsible response from the individuals concerned. Instead, the resort claimed its staff were subjected to intimidation, including alleged threats invoking political connections, senior officials and corporate influence. The management further alleged that additional threatening messages were received from an individual identified as Devendra Patel. The resort stated that it made the matter public out of necessity and to ensure transparency, as well as to protect the dignity and safety of its staff and establishment. Reaffirming its commitment to peaceful and respectful tourism, the management emphasised that it does not stand against any community, caste or religion and remains dedicated to promoting harmony through hospitality. Despite operating with limited resources in a remote and emerging tourism destination, the resort said it has hosted guests from across India and abroad and expressed gratitude to supporters for their continued encouragement.
