Thanks @msmorrislearns @hmsqueen @strauterman for joining me at #GPPChat I'm not quite sure where everybody else is.
@strauterman To be honest, when I only have students for such a short amount of time I can get sucked into feeling the rush to finish the lesson and teach the skills. I have to really be thoughtful about keeping in touch with students. I will have to plan time to reconnect tomorrow. #GPPchat
Join me on Sunday, May 6th at 8 pm CST for #GPPChat. We will be discussing chapters 4-6 of #KidsDeserveIt
A9: Take deep breaths, give hugs, smile, and stay positive. #gppchat
A8: I believe that when I, as the teacher, show excitement about the content, Ss will also be more excited. #gppchat
A7 #gppchat This is difficult when you look at each standard individually but when you turn it in to an element like Writing. Then all those pieces like sentence structure or commas become about being a writer
A7: We will be learning about continents and oceans by making pizzas with pepperoni. They will label the pepperoni with continent names and the cheese/sauce with ocean names. #gppchat
Q7 #gppchat The students love it I’m hyped up about any content and just randomly stand on a desk I’m so excited. Seems silly but they get this “this MUST be GOOD” face
A6: I have to admit, with my Ss social emotional needs, they may not stay safely in my room through each unit. I will keep doing it because they still deserve fun, engaging lessons. I do know that my Ss love being at school though and have fun...they tell me this a lot. #gppchat
A5 My short fall is always working. I need to find balance. Teaching students balance is part of my transformation process. #gppchat
A5: I just sent the pics of my first big transformation with a unit. I will have a new one next week. I will use Ss reactions this week to gauge changes for the following week...insects!! #gppchat
A4: The social emotional needs of my students. I need to find a balance so I make it fun but not overwhelming to their special needs. #gppchat
A4 #gppchat Mine is innovation independent activities that are self checking. You want to have regular turn over of breakouts so they have continuous growth.
A3-I decide the length of my theme and then outline each day. How will I incorporate the theme in science, math, ELA, social studies, and social emotional learning. I map out ideas for hands on learning. #gppchat
Q3 #gppchat My vision is to be the one that teaches the value of learning not just exposure or completion. If the begin to understand the act of learning, they will love it.
A2: Include the students when you are selecting themes to help increase likelihood of student engagement. #gppchat
#gppchat Q2 Authentic Relationships! Everyone says but not everyone really does it. Teaching is so much easier and beneficial when they KNOW you care. That alone makes you remarkable!
A1: This is what my students will see when they arrive on Tuesday...Enser’s Pizzeria. #gppchat
