OK, I've recorded my bits for the @MusNetIrl #grade1athon (finally). A covid vaccination yesterday left me a little woozy so had to put it off until tonight. Over the past year I've recorded for loads of things but I was really nervous for this! A fish out of water in woodwind!
Last bit of practice for the @MusNetIrl #Grade1athon appeal. Sounding almost like a musician.
Thank you to everyone who donated to the appeal, truly appreciated!
I really feel strongly that music is a gift that should be available to all regardless of age or financial status.
As if she didn't already have enough strings to her bow, our brilliant flute & piccolo player @muireann_eabha has taken on the Music Network #Grade1athon Challenge and will be taking her Grade 1 violin exam in June! You can donate at https://t.co/lspxB0cvds
"Is it my right hand? The bow? Does it have enough rosin? Too much? Is it my left hand? Is that even the right note??"๐๐ถ
We caught up with Muireann Nรญ Dhubhghaill as she takes on the #MNGrade1athon Challenge to learn the violin๐ป

Earlier this week we were very excited to meet some amazing players from @LPOrchestra who are teaching their colleagues for the #Grade1athon. Please support them by doing our own: raise funds for their PlayOnAppeal and we will donate 25% of your exam fee to them too.

So great to see two phenomenal musicians with such huge beaming smiles over preparing for an exam. This is our ultimate goals, that exams become an enjoyable progression tool. Good luck Lucy and all the other #grade1athon team! And thank you Mark! Post a gliss video?
I gave Lucy (a phenomenal harpist who performs with the LPO) a trombone lesson today.
She's taking part in our Grade-1-a-thon for charity.
We found common ground through glissandoes. ๐ฅฐ
Big thanks to @MTBExams for their support. #grade1athon
